VicForests employs over 100 staff across nine regional sites throughout the Central Highlands and East Gippsland regions of Victoria, with a corporate support office in Melbourne.
We have a variety of exciting career opportunities available - Our foresters specialise in tactical and operational planning, roading, harvesting and contract management, silviculture and native forest regeneration.
Other career paths include customer management, resource and business analysis, safety and risk, operational audit, forest science and product delivery.

Our Operations Division is currently seeking for a proactive and experienced Forester to join its team at our Noojee office.
About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Operations Planning Forester, this role is responsible to plan and manage the scheduling and risk management of coupes in line with legislative requirements and business objectives across the West Gippsland region.
About you:
- Appropriate degree or equivalent post graduate qualification in Forestry, Natural Resource Management or a related field, preferably with a commercial forestry focus
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years working within a forestry or natural resource management focussed business in a planning or operational role
- Physical fitness to enable effective completion of field-based work
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence with ability to travel
- High level of attention to detail
- Initiative and a proactive attitude
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Ability to adopt and progress new technology and systems particularly GIS and MS Office
- Developed communication and advocacy skills with external and internal stakeholders

Dependent on experience, this position is a Career level 3 or 4.
About you:
- Relevant forest management experience;
- Appropriate degree or equivalent post graduate qualification in Forestry, Natural Resource Management or a related field – desirable but not essential;
- Experience liaising and supervising contractors;
- Ability preparing coupes for harvest, including; preparation of the coupe plan, field marking boundaries and undertaking biodiversity field inspections and manage special values at the coupe level;
- Be physically fit to enable effective completion of field-based work;
- Capable of working independently without supervision;
- Proactive “can do” attitude;
- Strong organisations and time management skills;
- High level of attention to detail;
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence with ability to travel.

Shared Services Accountant

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced financial accountant to join our Finance Governance & Reporting team.
About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Statutory Accountant, the Shared Services Accountant is the most senior member of the shared services function within the finance team. You will be responsible for undertaking, reviewing or relieving shared services activities.
The duties of this position include but are not limited to:
- Undertaking accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset activities in a primary, review or back-up capacity;
- Understanding all Shared Services activities and processes to enable rotation and back-up of activities to occur;
- Assisting in statutory, management and financial accounting, control and reporting processes, activities and projects.
- Assisting senior team members with the statutory, management and financial accounting control, reporting and analysis processes as required, including month-end reporting, cash flow reporting, the annual Budget and Corporate Plan, Annual Report and the Sustainability Report;
About you:
- Appropriate degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Business or Accounting (Accounting major) and relevant work experience
- Strong verbal and written skills, including the writing and delivery of plans and communications materials
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar environment with an ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
- Proficiency in Technology One and/or other Financial Management Software
- Computer literacy – proficiency in using Microsoft Office 365, including the ability to operate outlook and word processing at a high level. MS Excel intermediate to advanced
- Able to prepare financial statements include profit and loss and balance sheet
- Outstanding teamwork skills and highly proactive team member
- Ability to work independently
- Able to provide a high level of customer service for our internal and external stakeholders.
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence with ability to travel
- High degree of professionalism and the ability to deal sensitively with confidential material and matters concerning financial records.
- Excellent organisational and time management skill
